Rallying at Old Smithy Garage

The connection between the garage and the world of rallying, has been quite strong, over the years. It is hardly surprising though. Newtown's motor club is dedicated to the sport and the Sweetlamb Rally and testing complex is within the region.

Sweetlamb are well known for holding stages of the Network Q on their land and many club rallies. So it is almost inevitable, that anyone that lives there, would like a piece of the action.

One member of the Bennett - Evans family, Jonathon, came to OSG to have his cars rally prepared and also to harness members for his service crew.

Chris Gittins at the Sweetlamb Complex in his 2.0 litre Vauxhall powered Mk 2 Ecort. The engine transplant and rally preparation were carried out here at Old Smithy Garage.
